About
Cagla K. (b. London) is a multimedia artist working with oil pastels, pastels, and dried flowers on raw canvas. Based in her London studio, Soleil Claro, she creates work that lives between abstraction and memory, bold, layered, and deeply emotional.
She is nostalgic by nature, sensitive to moments as they pass. Her work is an attempt to hold onto them, to preserve a feeling, a colour, a fragment of time before it disappears. Each piece is built through layered oil pastel pushed and dragged by hand on unprimed canvas, guided by instinct rather than plan. The process is physical, intuitive, and honest.
At the centre of her practice is the Daily Study series: a one-of-a-kind colour study created each day as a creative ritual, part journal, part archive of mood and memory. These small, concentrated works set the tone for her larger paintings and offer an intimate glimpse into her studio life.
Cagla's work is not decorative. It is direct, sensory, and present ——— colour as feeling, texture as language, every mark a moment kept.
